Professional ranges are built around a heavy burner system and a calibrated oven cavity. When something goes wrong it's usually ignition, temperature control or airflow — not the whole appliance. The parts are serviceable and, on these brands, generally still available, which is why a range that cooks unevenly is a repair rather than a replacement.

We service gas, dual-fuel and electric ranges, rangetops, wall ovens and convection ovens, including the burner and oven electronics behind them.

Common range & oven problems we fix

  • burner won't ignite
  • uneven oven temperature
  • convection fan failure
  • control board / igniter replacement
  • self-clean malfunction

What actually fails — and how we tell

Surface burner won't ignite

A spark module, electrode or ignition wire, or simply clogged burner ports. If one burner clicks but doesn't light, it's usually the port or electrode; if nothing clicks at all, the module.

Oven temperature off or uneven

A thermostat or sensor drifting out of tolerance, or a convection fan not moving air. This is the fault owners live with longest — a cake that browns on one side is a measurable, fixable calibration problem.

Oven igniter (gas)

A glow-bar or hot-surface igniter that has weakened will glow but not draw enough current to open the gas valve. Symptom: long preheat, a gas smell at start, or no bake with a working broiler.

Convection fan motor

Noise, or an oven that suddenly bakes like a conventional one. Motor and bearing wear is normal after years of heat cycling.

Door gaskets, hinges and springs

Heat loss at the door raises cook times and makes the top of the cavity run cooler than the bottom. On heavy pro doors, springs and hinges wear predictably.

Control boards on older units

Earlier oven generations use boards that fail with erratic displays or a cavity that ignores the setpoint. Sensors are tested first — they mimic board faults.

Brand-specific notes

Wolf

Gas Range (GR), Dual Fuel (DF), rangetops and M-series wall ovens. Dual-stacked sealed burners have their own ignition and port-cleaning routine, and oven calibration on dual-fuel models is a common, straightforward service.

Viking

Professional 5 and 7 Series ranges and rangetops, plus wall ovens. Spark module, oven igniter and thermostat work lead the call volume.

Sub-Zero

Sub-Zero doesn't build cooking equipment — a Sub-Zero kitchen paired with a pro range is almost always Wolf or Viking on the cooking side.

What moves the price on a range & oven

  • Ignition components are inexpensive; control boards and convection assemblies are not.
  • Whether the oven needs recalibration only, or a sensor and thermostat replaced.
  • Pro ranges are heavy. Pulling one for rear access takes two people and protective work on the floor.

Typical ranges for every repair we do are published in our Jacksonville repair cost guide. Your exact price is always written down before work starts, and the diagnostic fee goes toward the repair once you approve it.

Range & Oven repair FAQ

One burner won't light but the others do.

Usually a clogged port or a cracked electrode on that burner — a same-visit repair in most cases.

My oven runs hot/cold compared to the dial.

That's a calibration or sensor issue. We measure actual cavity temperature against setpoint before adjusting or replacing anything.

The oven smells of gas before it lights.

Stop using it and call us. A weak igniter lets gas flow before ignition — it's a common fault with a simple fix, but it isn't something to keep using.

Do you service wall ovens as well as ranges?

Yes — single and double wall ovens, rangetops and convection models, gas, dual-fuel and electric.
